This is a new replacement BMW SMG temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is located on the block of the hydraulic unit and it measures the temperature of the hydraulic fluid. Due to the location of the sensor the instrument usually fails as a result of the excessively high ambient temperature within the engine bay, damaged pins from user installation and/or corrosion.
